About the Owner

There is much to be said about vintage fashion and my love for it....

My name is Silas and I am so pleased to meet you! Growing up as an only child provided me with plenty of time to focus on whatever I chose. In my case, it was fashion. One of my first memories involves sitting among piles of fabric with my great grandmother, Georgia. It was long summer days in Paris, VA where Georgia Mama would watch me draw my latest fashion designs, in between playing dominos and humming country western songs. As a young man, I was captivated by the transforming powers of fashion. I come from a long line of women who were each fashionable in their own way. My grandmother, Barbara, was practical when it came to her fashion sense. She knew the power of a simple black dress, especially with the right jewelry. My other grandmother, Dorothy, was extravagant in her fashion choices. We would spend hours together shopping at Lord and Taylor where she would coordinate patterns and fabrics with great ease. Lastly, my mother, Janet, has a sense of style that she often does not acknowledge. My mother has a way of taking something that she purchased on sale and making it look like it came from Neiman Marcus; she truly is a classic woman with just enough trendiness thrown in.

But what about me? Why vintage clothing? I've always had an entrepreneurial mindset. After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BA in Fashion Merchandising, I knew that I would eventually want to venture into being a business owner it just never seemed like the right time. I put on my big boy pants and worked for several retailers including Brooks Brothers, Macy's, Forever 21, and West Elm to name a few.
Simply put, I love everything that vintage clothing represents. Vintage clothing often embodies a level of sexiness without being overexposed which is often the case in the women's clothing industry today. There is a taste level that women from decades past exhibited that is somewhat of a forgotten art. All it takes is an evening of watching Turner Classic Movies to see the shift in styles. One cannot ignore the elegance of Elizabeth Taylor in A Cat on a Hot Tin Roof or the over-the-top frocks Rosalind Russell wore in Auntie Mame.
Nostalgia is my way of introducing my love of vintage fashion to the world.
I hope you enjoy the collection and please feel free to contact me with any questions!

P.S. I buy lots of vintage clothing! If you're in the market to sell, I may be in the market to buy. Email: shopatnostalgia@gmail.com

About Us

Welcome to Nostalgia! We hope to be your shopping destination for vintage clothing, antique furniture and home décor.  Our inventory is always changing, so we encourage you to shop often!

Where does the name Nostalgia come from? Nostalgia is a sentimental feeling; a desire for happiness that was experienced in during a former time. Our goal is to help you acquire that feeling through our product selection and welcoming environment.

Why vintage? The quality of vintage clothing is much higher than merchandise manufactured today! Vintage clothing also assures a one of a kind look for the wearer. In a world of mass produced fast fashion, we believe it is refreshing to take a slower approach to fashion.

Do you only carry clothing for women? No sir! We carry a great selection of bow ties, ties, and socks for men. Most of our men’s products are produced right in the United States.

How about furniture and home decor? Our selection is great! We have pieces large and small for all price points and styles. We have a very high turnover rate so shop often!

Do you accept returns?  Because of the nature of our merchandise, we do not accept returns. In order to ensure a happy purchase, we encourage our shoppers to try on and inspect all of their clothing purchases.

Do you consign items? We would rather directly purchase any merchandise from a seller, but are always willing to consider consigning special or rare items.

What else should I know? We offer personal shopping services. Are you looking for something to wear for a special event or the perfect gift for a loved one or friend? Call or email us and we would be happy to pull some items specifically for you!
